First Review

Characters:

Adelia is a girl that everyone can fall in love with. Her heart is pure despite all she has gone through. From losing everything she has ever known, and having to move to America from her home in Ireland. But she is strong willed, with a spitfire tongue, witch has gotten her in trouble from time to time.

Uncle Paddy is loving, caring, and affectionate. He is like a father to not only Adelia now that she has moved to live with him in America but also to Travis Grant the owner of Royal Meadows, where Paddy has lived and worked for about years.

Travis Grant is the wealthy owner of a horse farm in Maryland called Royal Meadows. To describe him physically I would use the all to common; tall, dark and handsome, with very blue eyes. There is a lot more to him than his looks though. He is a strong man, who is liked and respected among his peers and associates. He was described by Paddy as a good man.

Majesty is a Thoroughbred racing horse, with a great spirit and a stubborn side. Majesty becomes Adelia's work and pleasure.

Wow! If I could write one book as good as Nora Roberts' first book I would be thrilled!

The Characters alone would be enough to peak interest but what really captured me was the need to get to know Adelia more and see where life was gonna take her. Having to move from Ireland to a horse farm in Maryland with her only living family, an uncle who she hasn't seen in 20 years. A number of ups and downs along the way kept me reading to find out what direction things would go for Adelia, her uncle Paddy and for Travis Grant.

I think this book was well written and from the imagination or the heart, it excited and softened mine. I would recommend this book to anyone who has a love for horses or a love for love and the struggles it takes to get to the true heart of it all.

Next review coming: Blithe Images published in January 1982.

Nora Fun Fact: Eight of Nora Roberts' novels have become Lifetime movies. Including: Angels Fall, Montana Sky, Blue Smoke, Carolina Moon, Northern Lights, Midnight Bayou, and Tribute.

Very Sorry for the Delay

It has been far to long since my last post and I know that you have been waiting for my review on Irish Thoroughbred. To be completely honest I've spent more time at book stores hunting down the next few books, so I have them ready for when I was finished with Irish Thoroughbred, than I have spent reading. It has been a time consuming task to dig up some of Nora's books from the first few years of her career. Many of them have been re-released in compilation books that have different titles than the originals. For example, Irish Thoroughbred is in the Irish Hearts compilation book along with Irish Rose, therefor I've had to do some home work to find out what titles the books have been re-released in. It took awhile but I have had some luck. I am only missing Heart's Victory out of all Nora Roberts' books published in 1982 and 1983, witch is a total of 13 books in 2 years. If anyone reading my blog has Heart's Victory, and is willing to part with it, please let me know. Check back within 24 hours for my full review on Irish Thoroughbred.

Nora Fun Fact: Nora Roberts' books are published in over 34 countries.

The Journey Has Started

Its a new week and a very hot one here in Las Vegas. Summer is among us, and that changes the amount of time I spend outside for fun. Although I love going to the pool to go for a swim or bringing the current read along and catching some vitamin D, the lenth of time any human should be in 109 degrees is very short. But now that I have this blog to build I should stay busy and cool most of the blistering summer.

As I said in my first blog I plan to own all Nora's books when I read them, beginning with the one that started it all, Irish Thoroughbred. Here are the different ways I intend to obtain them on this journey. Of course I already bought a few over time, prier to starting this blog, but since money is tight right now and buying something like 200 books will get pricey I will be taking donations from friends and family. I also support the local mom and pop book stores [new and used] so that will be my starting point. From there the book store at the library and than the big name book stores and online stores. Irish Thoroughbred is already on my book shelf so I am starting it tonight! Lets see how Nora Roberts' dreams started!

Nora fun fact: Being trapped inside during a blizzard in 1979 is when she started writing.

Intro to April Lynn's blog

My name is April Lynn. I have lived in Las Vegas for over 5 years. Most people would think living in this big, bright lighted city would be fun, entertaining and definitely never boring. But in the time I've lived here i have come to see that most of it is overrated, non fulfilling and expensive. In trying to find something enjoyable to pass time, entertain myself and hold my short attention span, I found Nora Roberts. I haven't always been interested in reading. Growing up in small town Minnesota i spent more time outside at parks and lakes than I did reading books. Now at almost 29 years old I find peace, relaxation and entertainment in reading a good novel. While reading different kinds of books by a number of authors I found that books by Nora Roberts have sucked me in fast and held my attention to the end, every time! Knowing that Nora Roberts has written more books than I can count, I decided to dig a little deeper. In doing so I found out that she had her first book published in 1981. I thought that was interesting because that's the year I was born. That gave me an idea, why don't I read every book that Nora Roberts has had published in chronological order from the year I was born and Nora Roberts career took off! And write about the books and my journey doing so. Adding fun facts about Nora Roberts and release dates for her upcoming books. To sum it up my goal is to read, write about and own all of Nora's books. Also, if there is something you, my followers, want me to include on this subject matter please let me know. GET READY FOR THE JOURNEY!!!
